Hayle Harbour Development, Cornwall
The North Quay project from Corinthian Homes stands to be one of the largest redevelopments of Hayle in decades.
As well as several hundred homes, North Quay is set to be a haven of entertainment with cinemas, restaurants, hotel, art gallery, water sports centre and shopping facilities synergising modern and traditional infrastructure alongside the reinforced harbour for the local fishing community.
As part of the first phase of works, Energy Network Services designed and delivered the infrastructure for both the 11kV and the LV power distribution networks. Two 1MVA Transformers now provide power to the development with several more planned for the future.
Among the first to be energised were the A1 Townhouses, all with 3-phase supplies to facilitate the inclusion of significant low-carbon technologies of both EV charge points and Ground Source Heat-Pumps, the A2 Apartment Block, and the most recent addition being the Block D ‘An Garth’ building consisting of 24 Apartments and the first 2 commercial units.
